Advocacy & Campaigning

Women's rights are human rights.

I have extensive experience working with campaigning groups to influence public policy, with a particular focus on women's rights. I am always interested in expanding my network and offering advice, if you would like to speak with me please use the contact form on the bottom of this page.

Sister Supporter

Sister Supporter is a pro-choice anti-harassment organisation, founded in November 2015. We successfully campaigned for a buffer zone outside an abortion clinic in Ealing, West London, after service-users and staff had experienced more than two decades of intimidation and harassment of women by the anti-abortion lobby. However, this gender-based intimidation doesn't just affect Ealing - many other clinics are also targeted. Sister Supporter is currently collecting evidence in support of a buffer zone outside a clinic in Camden. We have also set up Sister Supporter Manchester and Sister Supporter Bournemouth, and are in the process of setting up Sister Supporter Bristol. Sister Supporter is working towards achieving national buffer zone legislation. We believe that there should not be a post-code lottery for whether people can exercise their legal right to healthcare free from interference and judgement.

Voice for Choice

I serve as Vice Chair of Voice for Choice, a coalition of pro-choice organisations, and I am a member of the steering committees for the London-Irish Abortion Rights Campaign and Sister Supporter, both of which advocate for women's rights. Until recently, I was also on the Executive Committee of the charity Abortion Rights. The London-Irish Abortion Rights Campaign, the London branch of the Abortion Rights Campaign in Ireland, advocates for free, safe, and legal access to abortion in Ireland and Northern Ireland. As part of the Coalition to Repeal the 8th Amendment and the national civil society campaign Together For Yes, the campaign was proud to contribute to the successful removal of the 8th Amendment from the Irish constitution in 2018. Additionally, working closely with MP Stella Creasy, the campaign played a key role in urging Westminster to repeal sections 58 and 59 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, leading to the decriminalisation of abortion in Northern Ireland.
